Spring Up and Laugh

Our first annual Spring Up Laugh Comedy show was a tremendous success we had more than 250 in attendance of those 169 were sponsored veterans. Andy Kern and the Comedy Machine had the audience rolling on the floor with non-stop laughter. Our own Worshipful Francis Tanner even got into the act by surprising the comedians with a skit of his own.

We learned that together as a Lodge, we do make a difference and have an impact in the lives of others. We would like to thank all who made this comedy show a great success. From the comedians Andy Kern, Bobby Gardena, Cisco, and Yvette, to our Veterans who have given so much, the Village at Cabrillo and staff, who were so helpful in setting up this event. As well as, our brothers from surrounding lodges such as Salomon Staircase, International City, Garden Grove, Bell Flower, Irvine Valley, and Saddleback Laguna.

Dear Andy,

The members of Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge #2477 had a fantastic time last Saturday night laughing until our sides hurt! You were the talk of the Lodge Sunday morning and I have received many compliments for this Saturday Night Comedy Cabaret event.

You,  Mel , Hugo Diyagas , Tynon Shipp and Greg Vaccarillo performed Vegas high-class comedy right in our own backyard.

As a person who grew up in the Catskills, the birthplace of classic comedy, your act was of the type of a lost art and by-gone era rarely seen in today’s twenty-something crass so-called comics.

Anyone who wants to laugh, with “clean, clever and hilarious” comedians, MUST have your laugh “Machine” perform for their group.

We will definitely have you return in the very near future and we are all looking forward to a great time.

Sincerely,
Raven West,

Hi Andrew,

Just wanted to take a minute and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Everyone at our Elks Lodge, Newport Harbor 1767, enjoyed your show so much. So many funny comedians, we all laughed ourselves silly. We are looking forward to working with you this coming year and scheduling another show. I will put you in touch with the new chairman when they are appointed next year. Hope to see you all soon again! Relax and enjoy the Holidays!

Regards,
Patti Bothell

Dear Andrew Kern,

On Behalf of the Associated Students, Inc. at California State University of San Bernardino, I would like to thank you for providing a great show on January 29, 2008 in our Santos Manuel Student Union. The “Comedy Machine” gave the students something to talk about for weeks to come. Andrew, you have given our Associated Students the encouragement to venture outside of our usual events, and to start thinking “Outside the Box.” An overwhelming amount of students have requested to bring you guys back out for another show sometime soon and this is something that ASI is definitely considering. Once again, I would like to thank the “Comedy Machine” for its good, clean, and innovative comedy that you have brought to CSUSB and the Inland Empire.

Sincerely,

Anthony Conley

Highland Community News
Kiwanis comedians a hit

By Charles Roberts

The Comedy Machine brought its show to the Elks Club in San Bernardino July 22 as a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Clubs of Highland, and entertained the 130 guests with comedy that was not only funny, but was clean.

Frazier Smith, a well-known Los Angeles DJ, not only served as master of ceremonies, but laid out some of the best one liners of the evening. Comedians John Gold, Andy Kern, and D Militant kept the audience entertained for a couple of hours with a show that was an equal to most anything you’ll find on TV, and better than much of television’s offerings.

Organizations looking for a good laugh while raising some money should contact the Comedy Machine at comedymachine@aol.com.
